Summer Drylands Programme (SDP) 2016/2017


The 20th Summer Drylands Programme (SDP) – a two-month research methodology course offered by Gobabeb Research and Training Centre and the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia

Gobabeb Research and Training Centre and the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia (DRFN) are inviting students and recent graduates from the University of Namibia (UNAM), the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), and the International University of Management (IUM) to apply for participation in the Summer Drylands Programme (SDP). Students from all faculties are invited to apply.

The objectives of the programme are to equip emerging Namibian researchers with experience and training in integrated sustainable land management through applied research approaches, critical thinking and problem solving.

The theme for the 2016/2017 course is: Impacts of artificial water points for wildlife conservation in the Namib.

The course can accommodate 10 participants and will run from 28th November 2016 to 30th January 2017.
