Gobabeb Research and Training Centre, in consultation with a diverse stakeholder group, has been developing a Namibian National Strategic Action Plan for Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.
The draft plan was presented and endorsed at a Stakeholders Validation Workshop in Windhoek on 07–08 December 2015. The ten-year plan elaborates activities to support the conservation and use of Namibia’s unique plant genetic resources in support of the agricultural sector. The development of the plan was supported by the Benefit-sharing Fund of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources Centre for Food and Agriculture, through the UNDP.
